Re: How Long Did It Take To Birth Your First Child?

My son was induced. I had to be there at 6am. They did my IVs, and got me set up. I had my epi around 845ish at almost a 4. I had a small break in my water around 1045. At 1130 my doctor came in and My son was born at 11:59am. My nurses were the best! My Dh had dropped me off and stayed through my ivs but he had to go get his pay check so they were always coming in and out making sure I was ok and didnt need anything.

With my 1st baby I stayed in labor for 131/2 hours and pushed for 2 hours straight before having a c-section. After he was born the told me that he was side ways. I was induced

Incredible! And shocking. We're u fully dilated the entire time or that's was the slow progression of u becoming fully dilated to start pushing?

It took me 2 months to get were it wouldn't hurt to move around. And yea I was fully dilated when I was pushing. I was able to get his head out but by him being side ways his shoulders wouldn't come out.

Re: How Long Did It Take To Birth Your First Child?

My labor was 9 hours total, with no prelabor at all. I tried to time my own contractions because I thought I was in pre-labor, and didn't want to wake my husband. We made it to the hospital with 20 minutes to spare. His head was almost out before I got out if the car, and my water didn't break until just before that.

Re: How Long Did It Take To Birth Your First Child?

30 minutes from breaking my water until he popped out! No joke. I was induced though. Afterwards, I was also stared and gawked at the whole time I was in the hospital by medical students and doctors who thought I was simply a facinating miracle and amazing! LOL My second 2 hours, natural, no inducement. We shall see how number 3 does me now!

Good luck sweetie. My Mom was in labor with me for over 24 hours! My cousin about the same and it was longer on her. It all depends on your body, the size of the baby, etc.
